Seattle WA, U.S. to Vancouver BC, Canada
4*
Our whole experience with Amtrak was good. Per the title, we took a non-stop cross-border train from Seattle to Vancouver which took 4 hours; we got the early 7:45am train from King Street Station. The booking process online was okay, there were a few caveats that could be improved as some areas weren't completely clear, and it wasn't altogether smooth, however our tickets were fine and everything was processed okay.
Upon boarding, we found the procedure to be very quick, luckily for us as we arrived with only 5 minutes to spare thanks to an Uber which failed to pick us up on time... There was space to store our luggage (two medium sized suitcases) however there wasn't a great deal of room and we only got space as there were barely about 10 other people on our entire carriage. The seats were surprisingly comfortable and clean, although the same can't be said for the restrooms.
The trip to Vancouver is quite scenic and we thoroughly enjoyed the views. We arrived about 15-30 minutes late into Vancouver but this was only the result of a slower train that our train had to wait for to pass.
The cross-border travel aspect was very efficient, your passports/ID are checked on the train (simply to ensure you have them) and then you are fully checked at immigration at the arrival station which was quite a quick process for us (again, perhaps the result of there being very few people on board).
The customer service was good and the staff were all friendly and helpful (e.g. offering to help with carrying bags). Finally, the price per ticket was good, we paid $34 each to get from Seattle to Vancouver with our luggage included, so can't really complain.
