Poor budget airline
2*
We flew with Air Asia from Phuket to Kuala Lumpur, only a short flight, but they still made it as terrible as possible. If it wasn’t for the fact that they offer competitive prices, and that the flight itself did deliver us from point A to point B then I probably would have given the business 1 star.
We booked this flight online a couple of weeks prior. Upon online check in date, we completed the whole process however we continued to get an error message with the finalisation of our check in so we had to do this at the airport (it worked fine our other AirAsia flights, including other international ones, however? [see my other reviews]). Check in was okay but the gate was changed closer to departure meaning everyone had to get up and sprint to the other end of the departure lounge. Boarding was fairly hectic and there wasn’t much storage space. For some reason AirAsia like to punish those who don’t purchase seat selection in advance so I was sat next to random people (as was my girlfriend), with an adult in front who couldn’t seem to resist reclining and re-reclining his seat for the entire trip while shouting to all of his family in different rows. The flight was delayed and then was delayed on the runway for a further period of time. Service on board was mediocre, however I probably didn’t help with my legs across the aisle as I could not physically fit them in the seat space and I am only 6’3 (192cm).
Overall, I would try to avoid flying with this airline wherever possible, but I guess if you have no other option then it provides a basic service.
