Green space in the city

We visited Sam Houston park during our time in Houston and it was a nice green space in the middle of the city. There are numerous historic houses in the park which are interesting to look at, and there are a few small ponds with statues and water features.
It is a nice place to come for an hour or so when the weather is nice, and it's free to go to. There is also a visitor centre which provides some information about the history of the houses and the park.
Overall, I would recommend visiting if you're exploring Houston city as it is centrally located and it's a nice green space to have a stroll.
