Worth the hot walk
4*

As there is little to do in Phuket Old Town, the viewpoint was rather a highlight during our 3 day stay there. We decided to walk/hike up to it using some very helpful information I found on Geocaching (a global treasure hunting site). Unwittingly we went at mid afternoon and we suffered as a result because of how hot it was, but there was some shade on the way up. When we reached the locale there was an old fitness park, not really useable, and of course the viewpoint. There were good views of Phuket and you can even see the Big Buddha. There is a nice area to sit and there were a few small cafes and restaurants as well. We decided not to go to the Monkey Hill viewpoint because of the monkeys, however I did spot a large monkey at Rang Hill as well, though he was minding his own business and didn't bother us! In summary, it's a nice, free spot to observe Phuket and take some good photos.
