Infamous for a reason
4*
We have visited this beach in both the winter and summer. When we visited in the winter we were the only ones there, and for good reason as it was very cold, but it was still nice to sit down and chill out. In the summer it was relatively packed but there was still ample space to lye down. The transport links to the beach are okay, although you have to get a train and then switch to a bus at Bondi Junction which is a pain, and despite the buses being frequent, they are very full in the summer months. As this is a world renowned beach, there is no shortage of shops and eateries lining the back of the beach so there is no need to worry about food etc. and the beach itself is well maintained and extremely safe with an amazing lifeguard service. Keeping to shallow water it is safe, however rip currents are common and the waves, further out, are massive. The iceberg pool is also situated on the southern end of the beach and is a nice place to visit if it is not too busy! If you're visiting Sydney then I definitely recommend a day trip to Bondi if you are there between the spring and autumn months.
